There will not be a STM team opportunity in 2024. Please pray for the refugees in Columbia, and for the missionaries as they minister to them.
While in Columbia our plan is to:
Invest our time in practical training by meeting Muslim people face to face through prayer walks and literature distribution in Muslim neighborhoods, both which can lead to opportunities for conversation, and through befriending Muslim children and families in area city parks. Pray for Muslim people and people groups. Visit mosques as a way to meet Muslims and learn about their faith. Gain exposure to various different Muslim cultures. Experience the cultural foods of various people groups. Hear testimonies and life experiences of Christian workers laboring among Muslims. Learn about various ministry organizations and approaches to ministry among Muslims in the Columbia area. Have our own faith challenged and begin to think creatively about ministry among Muslim people in our own home areas.
By the end of this trip, we pray team members will have recognized and embraced ways God can use them and their churches, among Muslims. We have seen team members grow in their vision, identify and overcome cultural barriers, and move into meaningful outreach.
Approximately $500 per person (does not include transportation to Columbia or materials for Kid's Club outreach)
The trip cost includes:
Hotel or Airbnb accommodations
Most meals: Breakfast may be included with the hotel stay. Lunch and dinners are self-prepared in the hotel or Airbnb, by missionary host families, or provided by locals with whom we are doing ministry, and usually one cultural meal out.
Literature: A contribution toward literature for literature distribution.
Permits: A contribution toward park permits for our outdoor ministry in area parks.
Youth groups may be considered.
